Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. General Policy

At Kakku Puisto Bakery, we take great care in preparing every order. Due to the custom nature of our products and the time required for preparation, we have specific cancellation and refund policies in place.

2. Standard Orders Cancellation

Cancellation Timeline

  • More than 48 hours before delivery: Full refund (100%)
  • 24-48 hours before delivery: 50% refund
  • Less than 24 hours before delivery: No refund

3. Custom Cake Orders

Special Terms for Custom Cakes

Custom cakes require special ingredients and significant preparation time. Therefore, stricter cancellation terms apply:

  • More than 72 hours before delivery: 80% refund (20% cancellation fee)
  • 48-72 hours before delivery: 50% refund
  • Less than 48 hours before delivery: No refund

Once production has begun on a custom cake, we cannot guarantee any refund due to the specialized nature of the work and ingredients already committed.

4. Order Modifications

We understand that plans can change. Here's our policy on modifying orders:

  • More than 48 hours before delivery: Most modifications can be accommodated at no extra charge (subject to availability)
  • 24-48 hours before delivery: Limited modifications possible; additional charges may apply
  • Less than 24 hours before delivery: Modifications generally not possible once production has begun

5. Quality Guarantee

We guarantee the quality of all our products. If you receive an order that:

  • Is damaged or defective
  • Does not match your order specifications
  • Has quality issues

Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery. We will offer a full refund or replacement at no additional cost.

6. Refund Process

How Refunds Work:

  1. Contact Us: Email or call to request cancellation or report an issue
  2. Review: We will review your request based on our policy
  3. Approval: Once approved, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
  4. Credit: Refunds will be credited to your original payment method

Note: Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 3-5 business days for the refund to appear in your account.

7. Delivery Issues

Late Delivery

If we are responsible for a late delivery (excluding circumstances beyond our control such as severe weather), we will:

  • Offer a discount on your next order, OR
  • Provide a partial refund (amount determined case-by-case)

Failed Delivery

If delivery fails due to:

  • Incorrect address provided: No refund; redelivery fee applies
  • No one available to receive: No refund; redelivery fee applies
  • Our delivery error: Full refund or free redelivery

8. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or inability to fulfill orders due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Government restrictions or lockdowns
  • Power outages or equipment failure
  • Supply chain disruptions

In such cases, we will work with you to either reschedule your order or provide a full refund.

9. Special Events & Large Orders

For wedding cakes, event catering, or orders exceeding €200:

  • A deposit of 30-50% is required to confirm the order
  • Deposits are non-refundable if cancellation occurs less than 7 days before the event
  • Full payment is required at least 48 hours before delivery
  • Custom terms may be negotiated for very large events

10. Allergen Information & Dietary Requirements

We make every effort to accommodate dietary requirements and avoid allergen cross-contamination. However:

  • We cannot guarantee 100% allergen-free products due to shared kitchen equipment
  • Customers are responsible for verifying allergen information before ordering
  • If you have severe allergies, please discuss with us before placing an order

We cannot accept returns or provide refunds due to undisclosed allergen concerns.

11. Taste Preference

Refunds or replacements are not provided based on personal taste preferences. We encourage you to:

  • Review product descriptions and ingredients carefully before ordering
  • Contact us with any questions about flavors or ingredients
  • Try smaller items first if you're new to our bakery
